Carbon is a custom software development company based in Ontario, Canada. Initially, the client wanted a visual identity for the brand. However, after a consultation and getting to know the goals of the company, it was decided that creating cohesive brand strategy would be a better fit.
We started with Research, investigating the market and the types of customers that occupy it. Following that, we mapped out the Customer Journey of their clients to understand their wants, needs and values. Then, we dove into into Messaging and Positioning for the brand, searching for gaps in the market were we could create additional value for their customers.
This holistic approach better equipped us to develop a name that best fit the company, which was the next step we took after completing the initial discovery phase of the project.
The name Carbon was ultimately decided on, upon which we began exploring visuals for the brand. We developed a word-mark and symbol that could be used across digital and print mediums.
